Kuvassa on uusi lompakkoni, kun vanhalle ihanalle vintage-lompakolle kävi köpelösti ja siitä murtui lukko. Oli aikamoinen etsiminen korvaavan löytämiseksi, sillä olen hiukan nirso ulkonäön suhteen ja vaadin täydellistä tarpeisiini sopiva funktionaalisuutta. Olen kuitenkin suhteellisen yllättynyt, että ensimmäisellä kunnollisella yrityksellä löytyi toistaiseksi kelpuutettava versio. Olin viikonloppuna Manchesterissa ja kolusin läjäpäin erilaisia kauppoja läpi. Selfridgesiltä löytyi Mulberryn, Marc Jacobsin, YSL:n, Longchampin, Miu Miun ja luoja ties minkä muiden jälkeen DKNY:n lompakko, joka lähestulkoon täytti kriteerit ja oli hyvin samankaltainen kuin vanha. Ja verraten edullinen. Kaivertamaan jäi ainoastaan se, että materiaali on kangasta (nahka on kätevämpi jos uittaa joskus vesilätäkössä), siinä ei ole mitään kivaa yksityiskohtaa (kuten esim vanhan lukko, alhaalla kuva) ja sitten en henkilökohtaisesti tykkää siitä että DKNY:n tavaramerkki on tunkea niitä kirjaimia joka paikkaan. Mutta silti parempi kuin uskalsin odottaa. Nyt on sitten ajan kanssa mahdollista löytää se seuraava täydellinen kun on järkevä väliaikaisratkaisu käytössä.
Photography Thursday has returned after holiday! The theme of the week is new. The top photo is about my new purse. I had to find a new one when the closing mechanism of the lovely old vintage one broke. I had to search quite a lot for the new one, because I'm picky when it comes to looks and I require perfect functionality to fit my needs. I'm rather surprised that I found a decent successor on my first proper try. I went to Manchester on weekend and went through quite a lot of shops before I ended up at Selfridges. There I saw a wide selection of purses from Mulberry, Marc Jacobs, YSL, Longchamp, MiuMiu and others before I found the DKNY purse in the photo. It is almost perfect and very similar to the old one (the lower photo), the only qualities missing are leather rather than fabric (handier if you drop it in a puddle), it doesn't have a nice detail like the old one had and personally I don't like how DKNY's trademark is to put the letters all over the place. Nevertheless, it's better than I expected to find in short run. Now I have time to wait for the next perfect one without panic when I have a good temporary solution.
