Kevät tuli ja meni, ja nyt on kesä. Taas on ollut muutama lämmin päivä, saa nähdä kauan tätä jatkuu. Kevät oli kai kaunis, se oli myös ensimmäiseni Lontoossa. Oli paljon enemmän kukkia ja kukkivia puita kuin pohjoisessa. Suurin osa tästä meni kuitenkin vähän ohi eikä saanut ansaitsemaansa huomiota, sillä isoisäni kuoli yllättäen lyhyen sairastamisen jälkeen. Tai ei se kuolema ollut mikään yllätys, vaan diagnoosi. Yhtä kaikki, jasmiinit, kirsikat ja magnoliat piristivät maassa olevaa mieltä työmatkoilla.
Kävin hautajaisissa samalla kun olin työmatkalla, uurnanlaskuun en päässyt niin kävin merimieskirkolla sytyttämässä kynttilän ja syömässä pullaa. Suru ei kai mene pois, mutta nenäliinapakettia ei enää toukokuussa tarvinnut kantaa jatkuvasti mukana.
Kaikesta huolimatta, toisilla elämä jatkuu ja silloin suunta on eteenpäin. Edessä on uuden työnkuvan haasteet, samoin kuin muutto (taas), ja niissä riittää puuhaa riittämiin :)
Spring came and went, and now it is summer. There have been couple of warm days again, but we will see for how long this continues. I guess spring was beautiful, it was also my first one in London. There were lot more flowers and blossoming trees than in north. However, most of this kind of passed by without many remarks, as my grandpa died unexpectedly after a short period of illness. Or the death wasn't unexpected, the diagnosis was. Anyway, the blossoming jasmines, cherries and magnolias lifted my low mood on my way to work.
I went to the funeral service while I was in Finland in business, the burial I had to skip. Instead I went to the Finnish Church in London, lit a candle and had some cinnamon roll. I guess the sorrow does not go away, but I have been able to leave the flat without a pack of tissues since early May (which was sooner than i thought.)
For the rest of us, life goes on and then the direction is forward. Among the things waiting ahead are the challenges of a new job role and moving flats (once again). These will keep me busy for a while :)
